This Sunday, as we conclude our series on the Book of Hebrews and celebrate the third week of Advent, we’ll light the Candle of Joy and turn our attention to what it really means to offer acceptable worship to God this Christmas.
Many people assume worship begins and ends with singing, but Hebrews 13 gives us a refreshing glimpse of something far deeper and richer. In its final chapter, we discover six beautiful ways God invites us to worship Him - practices that bring joy to His heart and shape our lives in meaningful, practical ways.

Christmas celebrates the moment God Himself stepped into history to rescue us.
In the Nativity, we see all kinds of responses to Jesus: wise men watching and seeking, shepherds surprised yet ready, and many others who missed Him entirely. It’s a timely reminder that we can prepare beautifully for Christmas the holiday… and still miss Christmas the miracle — that God Himself came to save us.
 

Often  in life the things that we set our gaze and focus on, have a great impact on  the way we live our lives. In Hebrews 12 the readers were becoming discouraged by the persecution they were facing, and they were tempted to drift back to their old ways. The writer of Hebrews encourages them not to look to the troubles they are facing, but to set their gaze on things above.  Join us as we delve into this passage and take a look at some of the wonderful things that God has promised to his children
 

Athletes go to great lengths to discipline themselves to be successful in sports events. The writer of Hebrews 12 uses this illustration of sports to continue the theme of perseverance in our ‘race of life.’  When we consider what our motivation for anything in life is, the test of our endurance is often based on how badly we want the desired outcome, whatever that may be.  Unfortunately, it’s sometimes our loss of focus that prevents us from accomplishing our goals.  
The same is true in our walk with Christ. This passage challenges us to consider how badly we want the desired outcome of holiness. How much are we willing to submit to God’s loving discipline to train us to become more like him? Thankfully, we are not alone in trying to do this in our own strength. Christ himself endured the cross in order that we might endure to the end and finish this ‘race’ with victory as he did.

This Sunday’s message is “Faith That Makes God Smile” from Hebrews 11:6. We all want to please God, but it’s easy to slip into thinking that means performing for Him. Yet the Bible tells us that we can never do enough on our own to please God - what delights God is our trust. Faith says, “Lord, I believe You are good, even when life isn’t.” When we choose to trust Him rather than prove ourselves, we discover the greatest reward of all—His presence.

This week we’re celebrating the incredible truth that because of Jesus, the perfect sacrifice, we can have full assurance of faith Isn’t that amazing? We don’t have to doubt our salvation, because Jesus has made a way for ongoing connection with God.
For those who believe this, Hebrews encourages us to continue drawing near to Christ and living in that truth. But we don’t always live that way, do we? Whether it’s the pressure of persecution or simply the weight of our human nature, we often second-guess our faith or question the truth we know.
One of the ways we can stay grounded is by surrounding ourselves with a community that spurs us on toward love and good works. So come this Sunday, not only to be reminded of how we can stand firm and not shrink back, but also to practice being the kind of community that supports and strengthens one another.

Christ’s one sacrifice accomplished what centuries of temple offerings never could — it perfected forever those who come to God through Him. But Hebrews warns us: don’t treat that perfection lightly. To sin deliberately after receiving such grace is to trample underfoot the very sacrifice that was made to save us.
Spurgeon once called it “the most fearful presumption — to make light of a mercy so costly.”
 
This Sunday, we’ll explore how Christ gives us perfect standing before God, and why that truth calls us to live with holy gratitude, not casual grace.
 
Come be reminded that the One who perfected you forever also calls you to walk faithfully with Him today.

The sacrifice of Jesus was a single event at “the end of the ages” to put away sin. His offering was not like the blood of animals but his own blood without blemish. How should we respond to this?

This week we’ll explore how Jesus did what centuries of sacrifices never could. He entered into the very presence of God and made a sacrifice that wasn’t just powerful enough to forgive sins but powerful enough to cleanse our conscience.

This Sunday we are back into our series on Hebrews, covering chapter 8. We will discover the extent to which Jesus Christ went to become our Great High Priest, what that looks like to live our daily lives with such a priest, and the daily blessing of the new covenant set up by God.
