This Sunday we are continuing our series on the Life of Joseph. In Genesis 41 we read the cupbearer forgot Joseph when he returned to the palace and life improved. And if we’re honest, we can do the same with Christ when things are going well. But here’s the good news:
Even when we forget, God never forgets us.

In Genesis 40-41, we see that God hasn't left Joseph but is actually working behind the scenes in a spectacular way. The same way that he works in all of our lives.

Most of us know what it feels like to hold a dream we believe God has placed in our hearts — a calling, a relationship, a hope for the future. But what happens when that dream seems to unravel? Joseph had a dream from God. Yet before it ever came true, he found himself betrayed by his brothers and thrown into a pit. In Genesis 37 we discover a surprising truth: sometimes the very circumstances that look like the end of the dream are actually part of God’s plan.
 
This Sunday we’ll explore how God works through disappointment, betrayal, and silence — and why the pit may not be the end of your story.

This Sunday we start our new series on the Life of Jacob. If there ever was a life that proves God is at work behind the scenes, it is the life of Joseph.
 
Joseph’s story begins in chapter 37 of the book of Genesis and stretches to the end of the book. It reads like a dramatic novel tucked inside the larger story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob — full of family tension, betrayal, injustice, political intrigue, and, ultimately, breathtaking reconciliation.
Joseph is the eleventh son of Jacob — the long-awaited firstborn of Rachel, the wife Jacob loved most. Even before Joseph speaks a word, the family system is fragile. There are four mothers, twelve sons, old rivalries, and deep insecurities. Into that complexity steps a seventeen-year-old boy with a special coat and some very big dreams. And as we will see this Sunday that’s where the trouble starts.
Joseph dreams that his brothers will one day bow down to him. In a healthy family, that might lead to an awkward conversation. In this family, it leads to hatred. The coat his father gives him becomes a symbol of favouritism. The dreams become fuel for jealousy. Before long, the brothers are plotting murder.
 
What follows is one of the most dramatic arcs in Scripture. Joseph’s life moves from beloved son to slave, from slave to prisoner, from prisoner to prime minister. Yet at no point does the narrator ever say that God has abandoned him. In fact, one quiet refrain keeps appearing: “The Lord was with Joseph.” That is really the heartbeat of the story.
 
Joseph’s life is not primarily about dreams coming true. It is about God’s purposes unfolding, even through betrayal, injustice, delay, and suffering. By the time we reach the end of Genesis, Joseph is able to say to the very brothers who sold him: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”
So when we begin the life of Joseph, we are not just learning about a gifted young man with resilience and leadership skills. We are stepping into a story about providence — about a God who weaves human sin and human suffering into a larger redemptive design. And perhaps that is why Joseph’s story still resonates so deeply. Many of us know what it feels like to sit in the pit, to wait in the prison, or to wonder whether forgotten promises will ever come to pass.
 
Joseph reminds us: the presence of God is not proven by comfort, but by faithfulness and sometimes the long road down is the very path God uses to lift us up.

And family is messy, awkward, beautiful… and worth it.

We often picture the Good Shepherd as gentle and serene, but the role Jesus  chose to connect himself with was anything but glamorous. We will also explore the question: If Jesus was a "good shepherd" there must have been "bad shepherds"? This Sunday's message is about presence, protection, and the kind of leader Jesus chooses to be.

In this message on Jehovah Rapha – the Lord who heals, we explore God’s promise of healing in a way that is honest, hopeful, and deeply pastoral. Drawing from Exodus 15 and the story of bitter waters at Marah, the sermon acknowledges the tension many believers feel when prayers for healing go unanswered, and asks why God heals some and not others. We discover that healing is not just something God does occasionally, but something that flows from who He is — a sign of God’s Kingdom breaking into a broken world. Through the ministry of Jesus, we see healing as an act of mercy and a preview of the future restoration God is bringing, even while we live in the space between miracle and waiting. The message invites listeners to bring their real pain to the real Healer, trusting that while healing is not always immediate, Jehovah Rapha is always present and faithfully at work.

In a world that constantly reminds us of our limits, God introduces Himself with a name that means no limits at all.

In a world that often feels heavy with uncertainty and fear, the Bible offers a deeper kind of peace than the absence of trouble. In Judges 6, we meet Gideon—hiding, overwhelmed, and afraid—when God speaks a surprising word over him: “Peace to you. Do not fear.”
This sermon explores what it means to say “The Lord is Peace” (Jehovah Shalom). Not peace as a feeling we have to manufacture, but peace that comes from being reconciled to God. Through Gideon’s story, and ultimately through Jesus, we see that God doesn’t just give peace—He is peace.
Whether you’re anxious, weary, or simply longing for steadiness, this message reminds us that real peace begins with God and equips us to face whatever comes next.
